She also writes under the pseudonym Juliana Gray.

A story of love and intrigue that travels from Kennedy-era Manhattan to World War I Europe from the New York Times bestselling author of The Summer Wives.

Fresh from college, irrepressible Vivian Schuyler defies her wealthy Fifth Avenue family to work at cutthroat Metropolitan magazine. But this is 1964, and the editor dismisses her…until a parcel lands on Vivian’s Greenwich Village doorstep that starts a journey into the life of an aunt she never knew, who might give her just the story she’s been waiting for.

In 1912, Violet Schuyler Grant moved to Europe to study physics, and made a disastrous marriage to a philandering fellow scientist. As the continent edges closer to the brink of war, a charismatic British army captain enters her life, drawing her into an audacious gamble that could lead to happiness…or disaster.

Fifty years later, Violet’s ultimate fate remains shrouded in mystery. But the more obsessively Vivian investigates her disappearing aunt, the more she realizes all they have in common—and that Violet’s secret life is about to collide with hers.

A People StyleWatch “Must Read Book”
One of Reader’s Digest’s Top Summer Thrillers of the Year

Really all of her books are great! Such a fun book! It was recommended to me by a friend, and surprisingly it was cheaper for me to buy the paperback through Amazon than to download the Kindle version. This turned out to be a good thing, since I have lent it out to multiple friends now!The main character is so incredibly likeable and sassy, I knew I was going to enjoy this book from the first few pages onward. It didn't disappoint. As I get older and grumpier, I have less tolerance for bad writing. This is well-written but not stuffy. This would be a fantastic summer beach or pool read. Or a vacation read. Or a stuck in the house on a drizzly day read.Went from this to two other Beatriz Williams books that follow the other two sisters. Also enjoyable! Not a Good Representative of Beatriz Williams Books Just finished A Hundred Summers and loved it, but really did not like this book at all. Of the two characters Vivian (present) and Violet (past) I could not stand the Vivian character and her storyline and I skimmed through all of her chapters as fast as I could turn the pages. I enjoyed the Violet character and her storyline but it was pretty predictable. Since this book was titled the Secret Life of Violet Grant I wish the whole book had been about her. There seemed to be no real point in the present Vivian character and her lifestyle and life choices were laughable. Overall I have to say I do not recommend this book. I can't understand all the rave reviews. Two, two, two stories intertwined. The author did a nice job of changing the voice for to two time periods. I enjoyed the descriptions of the environments - not only the "costumes," but the settings including transport and what people were drinking etc. - good use of research. Lots of twists in the WWI era story, but I thought the turns in the later 20th century story were somewhat predictable though dealt with in a slightly non-stereotypical way. I liked the growth of the Vivian character. I didn't expect the story to have as much depth as it did so I gave it a higher rating than I might have to a quirky romance.
